Long story short. Last Halloween a friend calls and asked me to help out with a local haunted house. I ended up doing all the makeup for them, and performing as well. I received a very nice letter of thanks from them and an invitation to return. I figured that if I'd done a decent job with cheap creme makeup, I could do a much better job with an airbrush and some real makeup materials. So I got an airbrush for christmas and have been getting better with each makeup I've done and have now added liquid latex to my bag of tricks. I really love and enjoy doing the makeup, hopefully you will enjoy my efforts.
How I feel about DA at this current time.
I'm by no means the best artist by any measure on here, nor am I the worst. I have no formal training in art, photography etc. I'm sure that there are many on here who feel as I do. There are so many artists trying to get their work(s) noticed and appreciated so that they might feel validated that it often feels like no one actually sees their work. I recommend that you take a look, browse around the pics which are there and find someone close to your skill level and become friends. Help each other to get better, teach each other tips, tricks and shortcuts when and where possible. Encourage and support each other and promote each other to other people. This is a community of people creating things that they want to share with the world. So help eachother share. "It costs you nothing to encourage an artist!"~Kevin Smith
Re: Digital Art
My digital art is kind of all over the place. If you're interested in reading this, you might wonder what my influences are. The answer to that is simple: Ambien Most nights I take sit in bed, begin to draw, something, then take my ambien, The art flows from the mild to strong euphoria that my meds provide. Sometimes I'm really surprised by what my brain, Huion tablet and Krita/Photoshop or Autodesk Sketchbook come up with. More often than not, I don't post, anywhere, what I drew, mostly because it's horrid. My abstract art is my favorite, I don't do many characters because I struggle with perspective. I have no formal art training, but I've always loved to doodle. In a way drawing at bed time is a decompression tool for me. If you like something I've done, let me know. If you don't, that's cool too. I welcome constructive criticism. Just give it with the understanding that I'm drawing, painting, coloring what I feel.
Pythons!
Recently I've gotten back into having snakes around the house. (My wife too). So in the coming future I'll be working on my photography using the Ball Pythons we have as my subjects. Fortunately they tend to be pretty slow moving and don't fuss about being placed in the grass to have their picture taken. We have a few different color morphs now and plan to breed them in the future. A friend of mine who is a professional photographer told me once, "If you want to get good, shoot a lot." so I am trying to do just that. Obviously being a nature and animal fan, many of my pictures will be of animals. I love Glamour Photography, but as I have no s
My First Submissions
Being an animal lover and having a penchant for visiting Zoos and animal sanctuaries, I take a lot of pics at them. Some of them good, some of them are drek and occasionally one or two come out so great that I've managed to impress myself. I'm not a great photographer by any means. SO my theory is to take a ton of pics, sort through them in the hopes that I managed to get something good. I keep threatening to get a DSLR, but all of the pics I've done so far have been done with a Canon Powershot S3-IS. I think that some of these pics are really good. I welcome constructive criticism.
